Morrinsville College is a co-educational state school, situated in the heart of the Waikato and only 25 minutes’ drive from Hamilton City. It is also well-positioned for international students who want to experience the many facets of our New Zealand lifestyle, as Morrinsville is close to Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Waitomo, the beautiful beaches of the Coromandel, as well as two North Island ski fields.

The school is renowned for its excellent facilities and high-quality teaching staff. In addition to the regular curriculum, the school enjoys a reputation for excellence in Science and Technology research, Music, Art, Drama, Dance, Speech-making, Maori culture and outdoor education camps.

Around 60% of our students are members of school sports teams which play in Waikato regional competitions, mostly at the highest levels. The most popular sports include football, rugby, touch rugby, netball, hockey, basketball, cricket, golf, badminton and volleyball. The costs associated with these sports are very reasonable. For instance, a yearly student golf membership costs only $95 on an excellent course located on the edge of town.

The school has small numbers of international students so that fluency in the English language is developed very quickly. Excellent, caring homestays are available.
